Awaken your body
and
Transform your emotions

Experience deep healing through my body-based and emotion-focused community events.

I believe that true transformation begins by reconnecting with the body and exploring the emotions that shape our lives.

SomaTherapeia community workshops provide a safe, supportive space for individuals to release past trauma, holistic healing and gain deeper self-awareness.

SomaTherapeia workshops are open to all, with a pay-what-you-can sliding scale to ensure healing accessibility for everyone.

What to expect at a community workshop

At our community workshops, you'll experience a powerful, transformative journey designed to help you heal and reconnect with yourself.

We start with a cacao ceremony, a heart-opening ritual that sets the tone for deep emotional work. The main focus is a 60-minute breathwork journey, where conscious, connected breathing techniques help you release stored trauma, uncover hidden emotions, and gain clarity. During this process, we provide energy healing to support your emotional release and balance your energy. The workshop ends with a guided integration, ensuring you leave feeling grounded, empowered, and ready to step forward with a renewed sense of self.

Our workshops are trauma-informed and founded in tikanga Māori , meaning we create a safe, culturally responsive and supportive space for deep healing.

Whether you’re looking to release emotional blockages, gain insights into your emotional world, or simply find a moment of peace, this workshop is designed to help you connect deeply with yourself and experience meaningful transformation surrounded by likeminded souls.

Meet your facilitator

Hey there! I'm Mel, the heart and soul behind SomaTherapeia & Healing with Mel.

I am a devoted mother, partner, and entrepreneur, who has a passion for holistic wellness.

With a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Social Anthropology, and currently pursuing postgraduate studies in Counselling & Māori tikanga & rongoā, my academic journey guides me in advocating for natural approaches to trauma and mental health, rooted in personal experience.

My therapeutic approach is emotion focused and body based healing to create an integrative and holistic healing experience incorporating in multiple aspects of your well-being and life and to empower healing in all areas of your life.

SomaTherapeia is my vision for a healing space where natural and modern systems align to support others in their journey to overcome addiction and unresolved trauma, offering affordable resources and services.

I'm a fierce advocate for natural wellness, embodying a lifestyle centered on plant-based nutrition, mindfulness, and a balanced mind, body, and soul.

I aim to bridge the gap between mainstream therapy and natural healing modalities, advocating for their integration into holistic wellness practices.

As a mother navigating the complexities of raising three beautiful souls, my personal journey fuels my commitment to holistic living, resilience, and continual growth.

Through this lens, I inspire and empower others to embrace a balanced, authentic life.

Welcome to my world

Who should NOT attend a community breathwork workshop

We want everyone to have a safe and positive experience at our community workshops, so there are a few conditions under which breathwork may not be suitable for you. If you are pregnant, we recommend that you skip the session, as breathwork can be quite intense. Additionally, those with certain medical conditions such as cardiovascular disease, a history of heart attacks, high blood pressure, epilepsy or seizures, severe asthma, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, dissociative disorders, or a significant history of trauma should also avoid participating. If you’re on prescription blood thinners, it’s a good idea to consult your doctor first.

If any of these apply to you, we encourage you to consider other forms of support to ensure your safety and well-being or to reach out to us to see how else we may be able to assist you in our more intimate workshops or 1:1 sessions.
